Friends till Jannah, insyaa Allah
i have a very special friend. She accompanied me to kelantan because my fiance's( now my husband) sister was going to get married. It was in 1995. I remembered that we were very late . I stayed in Cheras at that time and she called her boyfriend to take us to Puduraya bus station. We just reached on time. My fiance looked relieved when he saw me and i introduced my "chaperone", Mashitah to him. Mashitah wanted to sit beside me in the bus but she gave her seat to my fiance. She understood my fiance's expression very well hahaha. When we reached kelantan , Shitah and I stayed at his grandmother's house which was in front of his mother's house. Now, that house has become a songkok/ baju melayu factory. I slept with shitah in one room and my fiance slept outside of the room. That was the time he knew i wore contact lenses when he saw me wearing spectacles early morning. The next day, Cik, my fiance's grandmother, asked me to cook and she gave me some beef. i seldom cooked beef so i didn't know what to do with it. Shitah gave me the idea to make " beef masak kicap" and she taught me on how to do it. Later, everybody tasted the beef masak kicap and praised it. Cik was so happy because i could cook. OMG, i was so happy and thankful. Luckily, Mashitah's willing to become my chaperone. We stayed at Cik's house for two nights . I don't think any girls would agree to follow her friend to meet her fiance's family and attend a wedding in Kelantan. Shitah lived in Subang Jaya with her family and just finished her study in UK. But she did it. She followed me because she knew i was scared and she knew i needed her. And now Mashitah , my special friend is sick, very-very sick and waiting for the right time to meet Allah. Don't worry Shitah. Don't worry about your children. Everything will be ok. Insyaa Allah.
